THE CITRUS SCALE / INTERACTIVE EXPLORER
YOUR BODY.
YOUR BEARINGS.
Mark where you are. Explore where you want to be.
Build a care conversation around the changes you choose.
No account. No answers sent.
The Gender Compass is a personal sketch, not a medical scale. Identity and hormones are separate; neither determines your attraction or your worth.
01 / SET YOUR BEARINGS
Now → possibility.
Left–right: gender identity. Up–down: hormonal environment. Choose Current or Goal, then tap or drag. Sliders do the same job. A shared point shows both shapes.
Place your starting point or skip the map.
How to read this—and where a compass runs out of room
Left and right are optional shorthand for gender identity, not masculinity, femininity, clothing, or personality. The middle has no assigned identity. Nonbinary, agender, fluid, and other experiences do not have to fit between two endpoints: choose “Outside this axis” and describe yourself.
Up and down sketch a hormonal environment in terms of associated effects. The positions are not blood levels, hormone ratios, doses, or percentages of sex. Everyone has multiple hormones; the center does not mean equal hormones or that having no sex hormones is a goal. Choose “Unknown / not mapped” if this axis does not describe you. The goal point expresses a wish, not a predicted outcome.
Moving the identity point does not generate treatment advice. Care information below follows only the changes you explicitly select. This community tool has not been clinically validated.
Attraction & romantic connection optional, separate from care
White marks asexuality. Romantic attraction is shown separately in blue. Attraction is not libido, and none of these choices changes your care guide.
02 / CHOOSE WHAT MATTERS
What would feel more like you?
Choose any combination. You can explore without changing anything. You don’t need a label—or a point on the map—to start.
Select this to add questions for a family conversation and a pediatric gender-care specialist. You can ask questions without deciding to start treatment.
Staying as you are is a complete choice. You can still make notes and download your current map; no treatment checklist is needed.

Educational information, not an individual treatment plan. A qualified gender-affirming clinician can help assess options for your body, health, and goals. Treatments can have lasting effects; this tool does not assess suitability or prescribe.
04 / CONNECTION & SUPPORT
More than a point on a map.
Affection, intimacy, pleasure, community, and emotional support matter too. Choose any unmet needs you want help exploring. These resources are separate from medical care and remain available if you choose no body changes.
A starting collection of US-based directories and online resources. Availability varies by location. You choose what fits; your attraction labels never select resources for you.
Choose a need to see relevant LGBTQ resources.
Take your bearings with you.
Download a private text summary for yourself or a care appointment, including any connection resources you select.
Sources & information limits
Clinical links below support the care descriptions. They do not validate the Citrus Scale or endorse this tool. Source publication dates vary; these pages were checked on 11 October 2026. Access, costs, and eligibility depend on the service and location.
Your entries stay in this page; this tool does not save them. Browser session restoration may retain them, so use Clear everything when finished on a shared device. We do not put your entries in the URL, analytics, or a database. Downloads and copied summaries contain the information you entered; save or share them intentionally. Ordinary site-hosting request logs may still exist. Source links open external websites.
